"I also like how the branches of the trees are entwined in the Hydra logo at the top, and then seem to stretch into his brain, as if they’re controlling him."
Out of the five limited edition posters for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., this is my fourth favorite. I could never say any weren't favorites, because the show overall has been fantastic and the final episodes of the season are mind-blowing and have left a lot of fans emotional wrecks. But I don't have the money to spend right now, and I liked the previous print more. This one is a bit busy for my taste, and I feel like I would have to mount it so it rotates, though it grows on me more every time I look at it. It will likely have more significance and beauty once I see "Ragtag." ("Boy, was I was right about that one!" she says from all the way over here in 2020, having gone through the events of this episode and so much more. We're now in the seventh and final season, which started with Coulson dealing with his third resurrection—and the fans celebrating it—and the team racing through time. Just eleven episodes to go now. Looking forward to "Alien Commies from the Future!" which, as a title, is just fun.)
I may instead order the print from last week, which is still available. "Nothing Personal" simply and beautifully sums up Skye and Ward. She broke his heart, Ward somehow not realizing that his actions would make him evil in her eyes, and his heart literally was stopped for a few seconds by Deathlok, who looms large in the background; possibly significant because it seems to me he was trying to get through to Ward when he said he was just following orders. But I will probably just wait to see what the sixth and last print will be. All of Uprising has been incredible. I have to assume that "Beginning of the End" will be the one most worth commemorating besides "Providence," which I already have and which will always remind me of the best Coulson moment of the series, so I'm all set if "Nothing Personal" sells out before next Friday.
Read more about this poster at Entertainment Weekly (or ShieldTV.net, where I first learned of this wonderful art series) and then stay up until 4:00 AM EST/1:00 AM PST to buy it from Marvel Store. There are only 100, so you might not want to sleep through and wait until a more sane hour. I go to bed and set my iPad to wake me up. It's the best strategy unless you're a very heavy sleeper.
